Doubling up on charges

I decided to cancel my Cartrack service as it was not a requirement from insurance and had to save some money. I dis the necessary and had a phonecall with them to cancel. I was informed that as it’s a rental, I will have to pay a larger amount to cancel. That’s all fine to which I agreed. After the call I received an sms that the amount is payable with their banking details. So naturally I made the EFT. Come end of month, tjey now debited the amount as well. So now I have paid double the cancellation and it has essentially become a case if all my debit orders are now going to go through. And if it doesn’t and I incur penalties, who’s problem will that be? Now I will most probably hear the age old line and of 3-5 business days when they took it in a second even though I already paid. Now I have to incur interest charges in credit cards to try and unsure my debit orders go through from my normal account. I am now happy that I cancelled.

Just spoke to someone in your accounts department. So now I have to wait 7-14 days to get my money back. You took it in a second after I already paid and now I have to wait 2 WEEKS! I did not want to get into an argument with the accounts guy as it’s not his fault. But this is totally unacceptable and shameful. It’s January and it’s already tight as it is, now I have to suffer due to a mistake you made. Why send out an sms to EFT if you are going to debit? If you want to debit and I tell you to wait 7-14 days you won’t stand for it, why should I? Are you bigger than your customers?
