Cartrack’s ********* Billing & Terrible Service – A Nightmare Experience

I am beyond frustrated with the ongoing nightmare I have endured with Cartrack for the past three years. Their service has been nothing short of a disaster, from failed roadside assistance to unjust billing practices.

One of the most horrifying experiences was when I was stranded on the N14 at night with my 2-year-old daughter after calling Cartrack for assistance—help that never arrived while I was paying up-to-date. This was only the beginning of a long history of negligence and incompetence although they formally apologised and sent me a gift.

Another major issue arose when I sold the vehicle that was being tracked. The new owner and I reached out to Cartrack to transfer the tracker, but their consultant convinced the new owner that the process was too tedious. As a result, I assume they installed a second tracker on the same vehicle. For two of the three years, I have been paying for a service that I am not even using! Despite multiple follow-ups, I was met with and continue to face nothing but inefficiency, as different consultants would call me daily—5 to 10 times a day—only to demand payment without properly addressing my queries.

The final straw was when I received an SMS from Cartrack on 15 February 2025 offering a settlement deal, as my contract should’ve ended in December 2024. However, it is still ongoing because of my arrears that are a result of Cartrack’s ********* conduct. And this settlement SMS exacerbated that ********* misconduct as it stated:

“Dear Cartrack client, get 40% off your R695 balance and only pay R417 to settle. WhatsApp *** to arrange and pay before 25/02/25.”

I verified this offer with their team via a phone call and proceeded to make the payment. However, a day after my payment, I was suddenly informed that I still owed a different amount. Each time I called for clarity, I was given vague responses and asked to wait for payment processing.

Then, on Monday, 3 March 2025, I received three separate calls stating that I still owed money, with amounts ranging from R150 to R500. Today, I got yet another call claiming that I now owe R547.

I am being harassed and financially exploited by Cartrack! I settled my balance as per their agreement, yet they continue to hound me for more money. Their incompetence, lack of accountability, and ********* billing practices are unacceptable.

I demand immediate resolution and a formal response from Cartrack regarding: 1. Confirmation that my account has been fully settled as per the agreement. 2. A written explanation of their billing inconsistencies and why I keep receiving different balances. 3. A stop to the harassment—I should not have to deal with constant, uncoordinated collection calls.

If this matter is not resolved, I will escalate my complaint to the National Consumer Commission (NCC) and the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) for further action.

Cartrack, this is your chance to make things right. Stop misleading and exploiting your customers!
