Cartrack South Africa Beware Beware

I am a South African living in the United Kingdom. I have been in a dispute with Cartrack South Africa for over 2 years. I sold my vehicle 5 years ago when I moved to West Africa for business, since then I have not owned a vehicle in South Africa.

The problems started a 2-3 years ago when my elderly father was moved into a retirement home. At the time he had been servicing my tracker account without realising it, this had been going on for approximately 3 years. When he moved into the home his accountant picked up the debit order and stopped the payment.

Cartrack then decided to pursue me for payment instead. I emailed them and explained the situation on several occasions. I also phoned them to explain the situation, I never seemed to get an adequate response. The letters (emails) of demand continued. Eventually about 6 months ago the emails started to get more threatening, I was advised by some member of staff telephonically that I had been black listed.

In August 2022 , I decided to make a payment of R2300 to make them go away. I made payment through Standard Bank and sent them instruction to stop all services. The emails of demand then appeared to stop and I thought the matter was closed.

Two days ago I started receiving demand notices for payment, Once again ~R2000 with offers to settle early at a discount, this seems so wrong.

I have now copied the ex CEO Mr Harry L, who has forwarded my complaint to the current CEO of Cartrack Mr Victor J, and I am hoping to see some response

I am absolutely exhausted from trying to resolve this so beware Cartrack South Africa
