Cartrack sells ineffective basic trackers, then tries to upsell you to fix their loophole.

I recently raised a serious concern with Cartrack regarding the fact that their standard tracking devices (which most insurance companies require) can be completely blinded and rendered useless by signal jamming—a common ******** tactic used daily in South Africa. Instead of addressing the ethical issue that their entry-level product is inherently flawed and unfit for the South African environment, Cartrack’s response was a tone-deaf, copy-paste sales pitch. They literally told me I can fix this security loophole by paying "as little as R89.00 per month" extra for an anti-jamming tag. As a consumer, it is unacceptable that we are penalized financially to make a security product do its basic job. If your standard device can be bypassed this easily, it is not "reliable monitoring"—it is a false sense of security. Cartrack is exploiting the security crisis in SA by charging premiums for features that should be standard from day one. I am highly disappointed in their lack of accountability and their shameless attempt to upsell me during a formal complaint. Prospective buyers, beware of what you are actually paying for.
