After talking to both CIB and Cartrack legal representatives they confirm that Cartrack pays CIB insurance and not you in order to lower the loss adjustment ratio. So just beware that Cartrack's R150k comes with big T&C.

Cartrack has advertised on various platforms that they provide a “recovery warranty” . Nowhere in their adverts or their website does it state that there are any terms and conditions to this warranty. They specifically mislead the public by stating that “in the unlikely event of a non-recovery, we give YOU a cash-back warranty on selected packages of up to R150 000.” Unless they honour this statement it can only be reasonably concluded that they are intentionally misleading the public. When initiating a claim on this they rep**** as follows: Good day Byron Sirchia We received your request on 14 December 2020 regarding the unfortunate incident with your vehicle. In accordance with the Cartrack Service Agreement entered into on 24 February 2020, the Limited Recovery Warranty is subject to specific terms and conditions set out in clause 10, which state, inter alia: 10.1.2 Conditions and Limitations:10.1.2.3 Should the Client be insured by an insurer or through a broker who has accepted this warranty on behalf of the Client under an arrangement with Cartrackwhereby the Client receives a direct or indirect benefit from such warranty in terms of the Client’s insurance policy, then Cartrack shall have no obligationwhatsoever to the Client in respect of this warranty. In such case, it shall be the Client’s responsibility to determine from the insurer or broker whatbenefits will accrue to the Client under his/her insurance policy. Your vehicle is insured with CIB (Pty) Ltd and therefor the Limited Recovery Warranty is not applicable. We regret to inform you that you do not qualify for the Limited Recovery Warranty. LRW Administrator Cartrack’s deliberate action of misleading the public with this “recovery warranty” is reprehensible and unconscionable. Furthermore, hiding their intent to backtrack on this warranty in their small print is further evidence of their intent to mislead and be dishonest.
