Cartrack Denies Access to My Personal Data

It is deeply disappointing that even after the cancellation of my services, I am being denied access to my historical logbook data for the period during which the service was paid for.

As per Section 23 of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), I am the data subject and have the right to access my personal information. Vehicle tracking and logbook data clearly falls under personal information, and your refusal to grant access is in direct violation of these rights.

Furthermore, the conduct of your telephonic support team has been unnecessarily dismissive and unhelpful.

I hereby formally request immediate access to my data as per the provisions of POPIA. Failing to comply will leave me with no option but to escalate the matter by filing a formal complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

I trust that Cartrack will reconsider its position and act in accordance with South African privacy laws.
