CarTrack Damaged My Motorcycle – Harness Cut, Electrical Failure, Bike Left Inoperable Now & they are refusing to reimburse my premiums and fix the bike

I am lodging this complaint to warn other consumers, especially motorcyclists, about my experience with CarTrack wired tracker installations.

Since entering into a contract with CarTrack, my motorcycle has suffered, ultimately leaving me without my only mode of transport at this day.

#What happened: * CarTrack installed a wired tracking unit on my motorcycle. * During installation and subsequent “repairs,” my OEM wiring harness was interfered with. * A critical OEM power cable (copper) was cut and patched with a non-OEM purple wire with a silver-coloured core. * I explicitly requested that no OEM wires be cut and that the harness be restored to OEM standard. This was ignored.

#### The consequences: * The bike began losing charge while riding. * Battery voltage dropped instead of stabilising. * The bike eventually died while I was riding (04 January 2026). * After CarTrack’s removal process, additional damage appeared: * Gear indicator shows “–” * CHECK warning on the cluster * No fuel pump or throttle body priming * Neutral not detected * The motorcycle is now inoperable.

These issues did not exist before CarTrack’s involvement. My bike was in good mechanical and electrical condition, with an intact OEM harness prior to consider CarTrack. Even people in BikerVille can attest to this.

#Additional concerns: * My bike was started without my consent while BikeWatch/CarWatch alerts were active. * I was misinformed that the unit had already been removed when it had not. * I repeatedly requested call recordings and evidence, which were and are still ignored. * When I asked for reimbur*****t of premiums paid for the wired unit, I was told my complaint (≈R3 700) was insignificant compared to “thousands of other clients.”

#Why this matters: Motorcycle wiring harnesses are extremely sensitive. Cutting and patching OEM power cables with non-matching conductor materials can:

* Damage the regulator/rectifier * Damage the stator * Cause ECU faults * ******* CAN bus signals * Lead to total electrical failure

This is not opinion—it is basic motorcycle electrical engineering.

#Final warning to riders: If you value your motorcycle:

* Avoid wired tracker installations * Do not allow OEM harness cutting * Strongly consider Matrix as they have Units designed for bikes and now I regret with CarTrack as they use same units for cars

CarTrack has cost me: * My transport * Time * Money * Peace of mind

I have evidence to support every claim made above.
