Cartrack Confusion

Earlier this year I started receiving WhatsApps and emails regarding a Cartrack subscription I never knew existed.

After a great deal of confusion — being bounced around telephonically between their various departments (and there are a lot of them) — I've now spoken to over 15 individuals at Cartrack trying to get this resolved.

It turns out that a previous insurer had set up a Cartrack policy in 2018 as part of their insurance agreement, which I cancelled some time ago. I was completely unaware of this arrangement — I have never used the service, never logged into their platform, and never received any communication from Cartrack until now.

In January, I received a WhatsApp notification that a debit had failed. I initially dismissed it as a ****, but when the messages persisted, I decided to call.

What I discovered is that Cartrack created an account in my name in 2026, complete with all of my personal details and my vehicle's registration They then set up a debit order against me without ever having contacted me, spoken to me, or obtained my consent.

The quality of Cartrack's call centre has been nothing short of appalling. Agents are unable to explain what's going on, provide conflicting information from one call to the next, and — most frustratingly — flat out refuse to transfer me to a supervisor or anyone with the authority to actually resolve this. I have repeatedly asked to speak to a manager and have been denied every single time. It's as though the call centre exists purely to run you in circles until you give up.

And that's exactly what's happened. The airtime I've spent on calls trying to resolve this now exceeds the value of the invoice I'm actually disputing. I've spent more money trying to cancel a service I never signed up for than the service itself costs.

I initially wanted to fight this on principle. After 15+ calls, being refused access to management, and burning through airtime for nothing, I've given up. At this point I'd happily pay Cartrack just to go away.

This is unacceptable, actually No this is now just straight up ridiculous.

Reviewer Update
UPDATE: The saga continues. Back in 2018, my insurance company had set up a Cartrack tracking service as part of my policy. The insurer paid Cartrack directly. For eight years, I had zero communication from Cartrack. Not a single invoice, statement, email, or phone call. I cancelled that insurance in September 2025. Cartrack never contacted me. Not once. No call to say the service would continue. No email asking if I wanted to take over billing. Nothing. Then in January 2026 — four months later — Cartrack created an account in my name, with my personal details, and started billing me. They got my address wrong, They got my registration details wrong. They attempted to debit my bank account without a signed mandate. They even sent me an invoice for an "upgrade" I never requested while I was actively disputing the account. When I escalated to their CEO Escalations team, they admitted IN WRITING that the billing transfer was never communicated to me. And yet — they are still refusing to write off the invoices. Their suggestion? Take it up with my old insurer. My insurer didn't create this account. My insurer didn't bill me. Cartrack did. I've asked them repeatedly: if my insurance ended in September 2025 and billing started in January 2026, who paid for October, November, and December? They refuse to answer. I have now filed a formal complaint with the Information Regulator for ******** processing of my personal information. This is not a billing dispute. This is a company that helped themselves to my personal data, created an account without my consent, admitted they never told me, and still expects me to pay for their mistake. Avoid Cartrack.
