Cartrack Accounts Department – A Masterclass in Incompetence and Contradiction
I am once again forced to raise a complaint regarding the shocking level of incompetence displayed by Cartrack's Accounts and Debtors Department.
For months, I have experienced ongoing issues with missing invoices, inaccurate statements, incorrect payment allocations, contradictory explanations, and repeated failures to deliver basic billing documentation.
The latest episode perfectly illustrates the chaos within their accounts department.
On 11 May 2026, I was advised that my invoices and statements would be generated and sent on 14 May. When nothing arrived, I followed up and was then told that because my payment method had been changed from debit order to invoice payments, invoices would only be generated at month-end. This directly contradicted the previous explanation.
After questioning these conflicting statements, I was given yet another version of events, with assurances that the June invoice would be generated at the end of May.
Despite paying both May and June subscriptions in advance and repeatedly providing proof of payment, Cartrack continued issuing statements reflecting incorrect outstanding balances. Numerous follow-ups were required simply to obtain accurate documentation.
On 29 May 2026, after escalating the matter yet again, I was informed that the June invoice would be available on Monday because month-end fell on a Sunday.
Predictably, no invoice was received.
This has become the standard operating procedure: promises are made, deadlines are missed, explanations change depending on who responds, and customers are left chasing documents that should be issued automatically.
What is particularly concerning is that this is not a once-off administrative oversight. It is a recurring pattern involving multiple staff members, including supervisors and credit controllers, all providing conflicting information while failing to resolve a relatively straightforward billing issue.
As a business owner, I expect accurate statements, timely invoices, and competent account administration. Instead, I have spent months doing the work of Cartrack's accounts department by constantly following up, reconciling errors, and requesting documentation that should have been provided without prompting.
The vehicle tracking service itself may function adequately, but the accounts department is an absolute disaster. If Cartrack wishes to retain customers, it needs to urgently address the lack of accountability, poor communication, and administrative incompetence within its billing division.
