************* Calls

Good day,

I am a customer of yours and received a call yesterday at 12h25 from ***.

During this call, I was informed that due to ********s now jamming tracking units — an issue allegedly affecting all tracking companies in South Africa — I am required to install additional equipment in my vehicle at an added monthly cost.

What I find completely unacceptable is that it was further confirmed that should my vehicle be ****** and I choose not to take this additional product and subscription, I may forfeit any related claim. In other words, I am effectively being forced to incur additional monthly costs because the current product supp**** and installed by your company is no longer sufficient against ******** activity.

I requested that the consultant escalate the matter to a manager or supervisor. Without hesitation, I was told that all managers were “in meetings,” which gave the clear impression that my concerns were not taken seriously and that no genuine effort was made to escalate my complaint.

If Cartrack is aware that its tracking units can be compromised so easily through signal jamming — something ********s have reportedly been doing for years with various vehicle systems — then I need to understand why the responsibility and financial burden to rectify this problem is being shifted onto paying customers.

Why was I sold and fitted with a product that can now allegedly be rendered ineffective so easily?

Overnight, the product and service I have been paying for have effectively become inadequate unless I agree to spend even more money to compensate for a weakness in your existing technology. I am now left in a position where I may need to inform my insurance company that the tracking solution installed by Cartrack no longer provides the level of protection originally promised unless I subscribe to additional services at my own expense.

I was advised that the call was recorded, and I would like to formally request access to that recording, as it clearly captures both my dispute and my dissatisfaction regarding this matter.

Surely your product development and engineering teams anticipated the possibility of SIM card or signal interference due to ******** intervention. If so, why were preventative or backup measures not included as part of the original installation and service offering?

I will extend your company the courtesy of allowing a manager to contact me directly to explain this situation properly before I take the matter further, especially considering that I was not afforded that same courtesy by your consultant. Your customer service line also neglected to address my concerns and only apologised. I didn’t ask for an apology, I would like my actual concerns to be addressed- timely please! I await your urgent response.

Regards
