Beware: My Experience Cancelling, What cartrack promots are not true

After more than 6 years as a loyal Cartrack customer, I have never been so disgusted by the way a company treats its customers when they decide to leave.

When I cancelled my account, I entered into a 3-month payment arrangement with Cartrack to settle the outstanding balance. I was informed that the arrangement had been approved and processed. Yet despite this, Cartrack continued attempting to debit the FULL amount from my bank account.

How can a company approve a payment arrangement and then completely ignore it?

What followed was an absolute nightmare. I have called Cartrack approximately 11 times trying to get a simple explanation. Every time I called, I was met with incompetence, excuses, and a complete lack of accountability.

The Accounts Department tells me that Debit Check is responsible. Debit Check tells me that Accounts is responsible. They transfer me back and forth like a ping-pong ball while nobody takes ownership of the problem. Not a single person seemed interested in actually resolving the issue.

One agent, Patricia, was particularly rude and dismissive. When I questioned what was happening with my account, her response was, and I quote: "If you have a problem, take it up with my supervisor."

Is this really how Cartrack trains its staff to speak to customers?

Another agent, whose name I unfortunately did not get, appeared completely clueless about the situation. He asked a series of irrelevant questions, could not explain why Cartrack was still trying to debit my account despite the approved arrangement, and eventually told me that the consultant who arranged the payment plan would call me back.

That call never came.

The most concerning part is that this does not feel like an isolated mistake. It feels like a deliberate system designed to frustrate customers until they simply give up. I am now left wondering how many other customers have had payment arrangements ignored while Cartrack continues attempting to collect money that should not be debited according to the agreement in place.

Consumer rights exist for a reason. Companies cannot simply make agreements with customers and then act as if those agreements never existed.

The irony is that Cartrack's adverti*****ts portray a company that values its customers and delivers excellent service. My experience has been the exact opposite. The moment I wanted to cancel, I was treated as though my loyalty meant absolutely nothing.

After 6 years of supporting this company, I expected professionalism, honesty, and basic respect. Instead, I received poor service, broken promises, rude staff, endless transfers between departments, and debit attempts that should never have happened in the first place.

To anyone considering Cartrack: be very careful. Joining may be easy, but when it comes time to leave, you may discover a very different side of the company.

I am deeply disappointed and would not recommend Cartrack based on my experience.

Reviewer Update
Good day,
With respect, your response is exactly the type of generic corporate reply I have been receiving throughout this entire ordeal.
This matter does not need "clarification." The facts are already clear.
Cartrack agreed to a 3-month payment arrangement and confirmed that it had been processed. Despite that, Cartrack continued attempting to debit the full amount from my account.
What exactly is there to clarify?
I have spent my time making approximately 11 calls to your company because your departments could not provide a straight answer. One department blamed another. Calls were transferred endlessly. Promised callbacks never happened. Staff members were dismissive, unhelpful, and in some cases outright rude.
After 6 years of paying my subscription and supporting your business, I expected a company that values its customers. Instead, I was treated like an inconvenience the moment I cancelled.
The most frustrating part is that Cartrack's word appears to mean absolutely nothing. If your representatives cannot be trusted when they confirm a payment arrangement, then what value does a customer's agreement with Cartrack actually have?
Your apology does not change the fact that:
  • The arrangement was agreed to.
  • The arrangement was confirmed.
  • The debit attempts continued.
  • I was forced to chase your company for answers.
  • Nobody took responsibility.
Had I not monitored my account, would Cartrack have simply continued attempting to collect money contrary to the arrangement that was in place?
What concerns me most is whether this is an isolated incident or whether other customers are experiencing the same treatment.
At this stage, I am not interested in another generic apology or a promise to investigate. I want a clear explanation of why Cartrack failed to honour the arrangement that was agreed to and why I had to spend weeks fighting for answers.
After 6 years as a customer, I can honestly say that my loyalty appears to have counted for nothing.
I await your explanation.
