Being liable for premiums even though you are nolonger working

The worst experience ever, how is it possible that you have to pay even when you are no longer working . Where am i gonna get money to pay their premiums. They also have the worst consultants as if they are not human and they have never lost a job before , then they proceeded to tell me they are gonna hand me over and black list me.
