Hi Johnny,
I trust this email finds you well,
I am not very happy with the way cartrack handled the recovery of my vehicle and as a results suffered losses due to YOUR SERVERS NOT WORKING on the concerned day.
Firstly, I tried calling cartrack and in fact was with them on the phone from just before 10pm, on the Monday.
• First lady indicated that they are not able to locate the vehicle because the servers were down, promised to call me back in 5 minutes and didn’t • Second lady indicated same issue about almost 30 minutes after my first call and promised to come back to me but still did not • Third lady did same as the first two ladies • At around 10H30, I received a call from the police station saying the driver is there to report hijack • I immediately called cartrack, the lady put me through to the supervisor who was on duty at the time, can’t remember the name but was a male, if I may, black person. • He told me they cannot dispatch a car because my account is in arrears and I did explain to him that there’s no way that's possible cause the debit order went off on Friday, the 13th of November 2018. • They even gave the same story to the police guys who were trying to assist with the recovery of the vehicle. • Well, cartracker decided to dispatch the car at 5H50 in the morning, that was almost 8 hours after the car was officially reported to the police station and car tracker as hijacked. • The car was recovered shortly after that at around 6H15.
Well, not that I am not grateful that the car was recovered but that was a very bad experience on my side on how cartrack handled my account and as a result, the following were taken from the car:
• Front Nudge bar = cost R 3 750.00 • Rear tow bar = cost R 3 000.00 • Toyota wheel caps = cost R 4 500.00 • Sony Radio = cost R 750.00
So I have suffered damages due to the incompetence of your supervisor or perhaps this was just the “I don’t care” attitude from your staff on Monday evening, or perhaps pure sabotage, well one will never know for sure, right? WITHOUT RECOURSE???
But I am very certain the damages I have suffered is due to cartrack servers being down for over 8 hours and you guys were only able to dispatch the car when your servers came back, .
You add the costs above, ie. R 12,000.00 plus the cost of having to replace the locking system of the vehicle which will approximate R 5,000.00 ( Replacing the locking system and an anti-hijack system)
Now should we assume that even if cartrack responded timeously and the car recovered earlier I would have still suffered the above loss???
Should I expect the next time something like that happen to one of my cars I should hope to be lucky like this time around? You will agree with me that this is pure luck that we found the car in that condition after over 9 hours of being taken and I am worried the next time we might not be that lucky should it happen.
Your response will be highly appreciated,
Your Not Very Happy Customer ,
Best regards,
