Bad Service

In 2019 I bought a new vehicle. The Cartrack was sold to me over the phone by Barloword Toyota in Menlyn. My insurance requires proof that the tracking unit was regularly tested and in a working condition should I submit a claim in case the vehicle got ******. In August/September 2022, my car battery was giving problems and I had to disconnect it a couple of times to charge it. It was then that I realized Cartrack never contacted me to inform me that the battery was disconnected. I called the call center and explained my issue. I was told that the unit that was installed in my vehicle was not transmitting a signal and that it was an old unit that was not in use anymore. (Again, nobody from Cartrack contacted me to inform me about this) An appointment was made to have the old unit removed and have it replaced by a new Cartrack unit. The morning of 6 October 2022, I replaced my car battery before Cartrack installed the new tracking unit that same day. On 20 November 2022, I downloaded the Cartrack App on my mobile. I was having trouble with the setup of the App. I called the Cartrack Call Center for assistance. To my surprise I was informed that the unit was not working and that the Unit was not transmitting any signal. The unit was installed less than 2 months ago. I went back to my emails and read the fine print that was on the second page of the form that I completed and signed that was mailed to me by Barloworld Toyota in 2019. It was in fact the user's responsibility to have the unit regularly tested. In other words if the user don't regularly test the Cartrack unit and for some reason it stopped working, you will keep on paying your monthly fee. Needless to say, I paid "school fees" there. I registered a complaint on the website of Cartrack on 20 November. I want to know why I was not contacted by Cartrack when the battery was disconnected. I did receive a Ref nr, Ticket#***. After 3 days of no reply from Cartrack regarding my complaint, I called their call center to find out what was happening with my complaint. The link Cartrack provides to register to be able to track your "Ticket" is not working. I was told that my complaint is handled by "The Team" and they could not give me any further information. Today, 23 November 2022, Cartrack yet again installed a new tracking unit. This time it was working and I received notifications. The technician that installed the new unit explained to us, that when the car battery is disconnected, Cartrack is suppose to contact the user and inform them of it. I think I might have paid for a tracking unit for over 3 years that was not working. What this means, if you have Cartrack, you should test it every day, cause it might be working today but not tomorrow and Cartrack will not notify you about the faulty unit. I'm not sure when I'll get an answer to why Cartrack did not notify me when the battery was disconnected on more than one occasion
