Absolute Nightmare with Cartrack – *********** and Unreliable!

Dealing with Cartrack has been an absolute disaster. Over the past month, I’ve encountered issue after issue with their app and tracking service. It started with their “Carwatch” feature, which is supposed to activate when the car is off. Even though my car’s ignition was clearly off, the app kept showing it as on, making the feature completely useless. Hours later, it still showed the ignition as on.

On top of that, my trips are being broken up into absurdly short segments—random 5-second and 35-second trips—despite me driving continuously. Sometimes the app shows my parked car moving at 15-16 km/h with the ignition off! I’ve contacted customer support repeatedly, and all I get are empty promises that the technical team will “look into it.” They’ve even told me to uninstall and reinstall the app, but of course, nothing changed.

To make matters worse, Cartrack asked me to provide photos and videos of the issue. I did, even sending screen recordings clearly showing the problem. After a week, they called back saying the issue was due to a server problem on their side and they needed to move me to a different server. Really? A server issue? This seemed like a ridiculous excuse, but I gave them a chance to fix it.

Shockingly, things got even worse after the switch. The app showed my car as active for hours on end while it was parked, and entire trips just disappeared! I drove from Johannesburg to Dinokeng Nature Reserve, and the app didn’t log the trip at all. The following day, I drove around the reserve for hours, and again—no trips were recorded.

This is absolutely unacceptable. I’ve done everything they asked and provided all the evidence needed to fix the problem, yet nothing has changed. Cartrack’s service is not only unreliable but ***********. Their customer support is useless, and their technical team seems clueless. I regret ever signing up with them and would strongly advise anyone to stay far away from this company. Cartrack is a complete waste of time and money!
