Sheer driving customer service pleasure a Carson Motors Eswatini BMW Dealership
Good day, I pen this as a very disgruntled customer due to the experience I have received from one of ur approved dealership in Eswatini, Carson Motors. On and about April 2020 my BMW 320 (F30), model 2013, developed a drivetrain error and started limiting speed. I took it to Carson motors for diagnostics. A day or two later they gave me a call and gave me a turbocharge quotation. I requested them to box up the car as I wanted to tow the car to South Africa for a 2nd opinion. During the same day I received a call from them, asking that I do not take the car as they wanted to do further diagnosis, reason the turbo error was not coming up in their diagnosis tool. As my trusted dealer I gave them that opportunity to further investigate. It was after a number of phone calls that I never received feedback from them about the car, when I went to the dealership they told me they have order a part in RSA, and was being delayed by covid restrictions, so I further waited. After weeks of waiting the part arrived and I got feedback that replacing the part didn’t sort the issue, and they needed further time to investigate. One morning on the second month I received a call that I must send them petrol money, as BMW has advised that they drain the petrol, which I did send them 200 rands, after another followup without them contacting me, they told me that didn’t fix the issue. I then further told them to box up the car as it shows clearly they cannot find the issue, it is on that very same day that they called again that the issue is a turbo and they gave me the same qoute they had provided initially. Tired as I was I requested that they give me back the car. On the day of collection I found their Manager, who alleged he was not aware of the issue, he called a meeting with his technicians and requested me to give him 1 day to sort the issue, he only returned to me 2 days later and said “my technicians have been waiting for you all along they told u initially what the issue was” I was disappointed and perplexed, as I was the one all along chasing up on the car, even their customer service people would tell me, “we haven’t received anything from the technicians, they don’t update us, one of the service consultants, i then requested fetch the car, on the day of fetching the car I discovered that the car has detoriated from the time I sent it to them, 100% loss of power and ignition sound was so bad, I asked them to look at the car and give it back to me as I gave it to them, nothing was done. I fetched the car and parked it to my office nearest to the dealership. I arranged it to be towed to BMW Ermelo and on the arrived at Ermelo they discovered a huge cloth in one of the pipes to the turbo and diagnosed that this cloth could have resulted to the turbo being damaged. I have never took the car to any dealership that is not authorized by bmw, and the car was with Carson for 2 months, it puzzles me who their competent technicians could not detect this cloth??? Sent BMW South Africa a tweet and they ask for my contact details and promised to get back to me and never did! Horrible experience. On lesson out of motor plan you are on your own! No one at BMW wants to give you an ear...
