Carrier air conditioning

Put in a Carrier air conditioner in my son's room. Inverter unit. Not long after we picked up a noise on the inside unit that sounds like a frequency issue. Was not to bad in the beginning but got worse. Reported it....new part was ordered..... 6 months later still waiting. Is this the service that I should accept for a brand like Carrier????
