Poor, unprofessional service, ignorance in resolving contractual issues, false promises, misleading information of service delivery, unprofessional behavior wrt after sales service, breach of contract, non delivery of goods and services

In a nut shell, C.S Flooring T/A Carpet Connection is just one of that companies that strives for signing up clients through a very effective marketing campaign, demanding payment before service delivery and when services needed to be rendered, numerous excuses just pop up defending their reputation that they will deliver. Sorry Craig and Carpet Connection, you fail dismally.

In summary the following: and I want the public to know this:

Delivery of material through a 3rd party was on time, granted good service. Installation Team arriving late and not according to schedule. I had to make arrangements to have them booked in at some kind of accommodation waiting for their Team Leader "Craig" to pitch up. No communication from the company whatsoever providing reasons why the installation team manager is late. Craig and his team arrives after at 20h00 that evening with some kind of excuse that they had vehicle problems. (Toyota Tazz). This in itself has delayed the installation for a full working day.

Day two started off very well at 08h00 and installation began. Upon asking where are their power tools to cut the doors (Obviously you need to cut doors when installing laminate flooring) I was told that they do not have such tools and it is my responsibility. Ridiculous I would say. Any normal thinking person will know that you have to prepare for cutting doors when installing laminated floors.

Never the less I was forced to to purchase a circular saw to the amount of R 1200.00 to have these doors cut. On several occasions I was requested to provide other tools such as hammers, zig-saw, edge cutting knives, *****drivers and cutting blades etc which I did. Obviously not geared to do the job. Well I had to tolerate it to get the work done.

Alarmingly the installation progressed and in this period of time pictures were placed on a Gumtree ad of this installation and advertising the product as cheap flooring (cheaper as what I was quoted for) and somewhat damaged or reject flooring. Alarming. We have copied the the advert for record purposes. This ad was published under Craig's and one of the workers names.

Unfortunately due to the initial delay the team did not complete the scope of work and needed to work on a Sunday. (This was not acceptable due to my Christian belief and we were inconvenienced on the day of our worship). Alarmingly I was requested to provide funds for the accommodation for the extra day, which i did. According to Craig they have not budgeted for the expenditure and does not have access to funds to do such additional accommodation arrangements. It was even communicated to me that it is my responsibility to pay for the extra day due to the so-called "huge-job he miss quoted" . This was shocking and alarming, though we have "helped" them just to get the job done and provided an additional R 2000.00 in cash to him.

Never the less it did not stop there. The team was left alone on several occasions to do the installation themselves with no supervision. Craig dropped them off and then "disappeared" for prolonged periods of time. At one stage I had to drive and purchase meals which we did just to get the job done. In fact we have provided beverages and meals to all of the contractors, without claiming any expenditure from the company.

Upon near completion, Craig indicated that he has a problem in travelling back due to no funds and requested transport money to have the team taken back to Cape Town. Obviously I was forced to provide the funds, cramming the whole team in a Toyota Tazz and drove back to Cape Town. So unprofessional and endangering the workers lives by cramming in the whole team in a small car that is not suitable for such amount of passengers. In fact they have had a flat casing on the way back to Cape Town according to Craig.

Thereafter my struggle began. Due to shortage of stock the company needed to replace stock earmarked for another facility I intended to complete as well on a later stage.

Till date numerous excuses and empty promises from Carpet Connection, I still wait for the refunds, my stock to be replaced, my contract wrt the warranty on the workmanship, and warranty on the material. All just empty promises. I'm of the opinion the so-called 25 year material guarantee and 5 year guarantee on installation / workmanship has zero value and is just bogus.

I have been in liaison with Craig with no response. I have phoned the office and spoken to Dawn reporting the matter and sending several e-mails and claims from July 2017 till date (End November 2017) (5 Months). I have been promised on several occasions that my stock will be delivered, funds were made available to do the delivery (by the way I even indicated to Carpet Connection to keep the additional R 580.00 they owe me and use it for the delivery of stock they owe me) but till date no avail. I'm stuck with this company's empty promises and lies to be frank.

However Dawn has indicated to me that she has escalated it to their Principal member also by chance called "Craig" to deal with this matter further. A week has passed and nothing materialized. I investigated and found the so-called "Craig" tel no on the website. After calling the number to my surprise it is the same and only "Craig" that was on my site.

Something not right here??????? Who is this mysterious "Craig" then and why does he not call back. My assumption it is the same and only Craig that has been on my sight and is according to Dawn only a so called sub-contractor is the so-called owner / senior member of the company as well. One and the same person. Or is C S Flooring just Craig??????? ("C" stands for Craig I would assume?????). Please proof me wrong!!!!!!!!!

Well I have started litigation against C.S Flooring T/A Carpet Connection and added the members as 3rd parties to the claim due to non-response to the total amount of R 137 140.00.

I would really want warn the public against this company and the so-called "Craig" person. By the way, as it always goes, Craig and Dawn are very charming and likable persons. Compliments to them, they excel on that level but for sure has no intention to render a professional service.

Please, please stay away from this company. You are going to experience an abundance of excuses, lies, stories and to be very honest, you will experience exactly what I have experienced. You will throw your hard owned money in the water, I can guarantee you that.

I Trust Craig, Dawn and the partners take serious note of this and that we are now standing up for our consumer rights and getting rid of business like this.

Best Regards and a thumbs down for Craig and his Carpet Connection. "Whoever Craig is anyway!!!!"

I would gladly want to see the response of Craig and his Carpet Connection on this site, Please, Craig you have the opportunity to state your case and try to defend such poor and unprofessional service, and please just deliver my stock and provide the guarantees. That's all I request from you.

Well after this publication and numerous text messages and phone calls, eventually some progress made. Carpet Connection has contracted a courier company to deliver my goods and apologized for the "inconvenience" caused. To be honest the owner of the company "Craig" has till today did not even contacted me. I'm still waiting for the goods to be delivered but at least I do have a tracking number and I have spoken to the company and it is confirmed they are in possession of my goods. Ok lets see when it is delivered. Though still outstanding are my invoices and written warranties and guarantees. I will once again send a mail requesting it from the company after the have said it will be don immediately. Well still waiting a week after the promise. I'm very honest, I can not understand that this business is still in business. Poor poor service and very unprofessional. No customer and after service from this company. Shame on you Carpet Connection. Note: At least Dawn has jumped in and tried to resolve the matter. Thank you Dawn, much appreciated.

Well, well well. Can you belief it. I have at long last received my stock. Dawn from Carpet connection, thank you for letting that happen. It is still ridiculous to have had this matter resolved after six months. Though there are still two outstanding matters. My invoices and the guarantee / warranties on the material (25 year) and workmanship (5 Years). Therefore I will engage Carpet Connection again. I trust I will receive it eventually. The reporting on Hello Peter did have the desired effect, however I do caution consumers when dealing with Carpet Collection to make sure that all matters are coordinated, and to monitor the progress with great detail. The next thing for me to monitor is the quality and the workmanship. I must say, even though the matter has been 99% resolved, it was not a pleasant experience and Carpet Connection falls dismally short in rendering a professional service. May rating is still only one star. I'm of the opinion there are more reputable companies in this environment. Consumers, please do thorough research on such companies. Thank you for an excellent CPA (Consumer Protection Act) that we as consumers stand up against companies that does not comply with professional business ethics.
