Curly Perm - I think not!

On Thursday morning I made an appointment for my colleague with Carlton in Canal walk to have a curly perm done on Sunday (yesterday). Assuming this was a professional place, as you can't trust anyone to do a curly perm.

When my colleague got there, they did not even have her appointment on the books as the receptionist did not take this down, and was not there to confirm either. They eventually helped her. Keeping in mind we got a quote for 1060 - 1160 based on the stylist chosen. My colleague opted for one of the stylists with more experience. (well so we thought)

When the curly perm was done, the stylist said "we done" and my colleague then asked her "is that it?"

I have now seen my colleague's hair today, and I can tell you this is NOT what a curly perm looks like. Her hair is barely curly!

My colleague showed the stylist a picture of what she wanted her hair to look like when it was done and again it does not look anything like it.

She essentially wasted all that money to sit at a professional salon for 3 and a half hours and for a hairdo that makes her look she was aiming for a 80s bushy hair do.

My colleague wants a refund for the disastrous experience as she could have used the money to have her hair done somewhere else, with someone that actually knows how to do a curly perm as its obvious this stylist did not - and then to charge someone over R1000 for the look that she has now? The nerve!
