Carlton Highlight mess

So I decided to go for your “In Salon Lockdown Highlight special”. It was my first time trying Carlton Hair as my previous stylist had moved. I was very excited and only needed a touch up on the highlights that have grown out since February. Upon consulting with the stylist and telling her what I wanted she told me that what I’m explaining is “Bayalage” and not “highlights”. I told her that I just needed a touch up of highlights and that it must blend with the highlights that are already in my hair.

The stylist started with the foils and I was already unsure if I had made the right decision as she did not seem confident enough. Before applying toner the stylist had asked me what number I would like my blonde to be and I chose “10” which is the lightest. The stylist proceeded to tell me my hair only lifted to a 9. Not knowing what it meant we continued with the toner and wash.

I was shocked when I saw what my hair turned out to be. At first I thought it was only the light but now, 4 days later I can actually see the mess my hair is. It’s a stripey mess and definitely not what I expected. Don’t even get me started on the cut. Uneven and skew. After the blow dry the stylist said “It looks lovely at least it’s not orange or yellow.. now you know for next time”.

I probably could have done a better job myself at home but instead ended up paying someone else to mess up my hair. It’s nothing against the stylist as she was lovely and friendly and yet so confident in messing up my hair. But yet it’s Carlton Hair SA’s fault as they are obviously not training the stylists as they should.

I know have to deal with my messed up hair daily and I’m just not satisfied. Definitely will not be going back.
