Cellphone
On Friday the 19th, I went to the store to buy my mother's brand new phone a screen protector. 15 - 20 minutes later, after mother and I had separated, she realized that she did not have the phone with her. She suspected that she had gotten pick pocketed. 2 Weeks later (Friday the 2nd of August) when she came to Bloemfontein, she told me that she suspects that we did not leave Carlos Celullar with the phone. We then decided to go to the store and ask the manager to show us the CCTV footage of that day. He spent more than an hour browsing through the footage and told me that he is struggling to find the footage of that day and that he is going to need more time. He then asked me to leave him my WhatsApp number; he will send the footage through it. Monday the 5th of August he left me a voicemail message telling me that he found the video, he cannot send it via WhatsApp as it is a big file however I can come to the store to see it. He also told me that he saw the video and that my mom took the phone that day. On Thursday the 8th I went to the store to go see the video, I waited 35 minutes for him to arrived and 30 more minutes to find the video again (after I informed him prior that I will be coming). Eventually he told me that the video got deleted, he may not be able to download it again as their CCTV footage storage is only 1TB.
When my mother and I went on Friday the 2nd, the guy that assisted us on the 19th, blatantly denied ever seeing us or even rendering any service to us. I suspect that the store owner saw something on the footage that he did not want us to see that is why the process of showing us the footage took as long as it did until the video got deleted.
