CARIBE LODGE IN PIETERMARITZBURG, 55 ASHBY ROAD, BAD AND LIFE THREATNING EXPERIENCE
I booked the lodge for 3 nights on the 18th to 20 April 2026, infact as I am writing a review, I am still in the accommodation for my second night. I am literally sick, I can't breathe properly, it is smelling paint and the brown bed sheets are having stains. Bathroom is so messy and leaking and I have seen a number of ****roaches in a way that my other colleague bought a doom on our way back from work. I haven't been sleeping for 2 consecutive days and I am not coping at work. We paid R2100 for 3nights and when they took us to the rooms, we were not happy but because it was at night and we were tired, we complained but stayed. They promised to move us to the better room that was going to be available on the following day but when we spoke to the owner over the phone, she said she can't help us coz her rooms are now full of Eskom people. We told her our concerns but she said she can't help us, we requested for our money back, she said she'll give it to us on the following day... We are not convinced because they made us pay CASH and there is a small written not on the wall that says: No cancelations, no refunds! I have a breathing difficulty right now and my nostrils down to the chest is very painfulðŸ˜. I am literally crying because I don't know what to do, it is in the middle of the night. I have no other means and I need my money to book somewhere else but with the attitude the manager gave me I am doubting that I will get my money back. I will move out in the morning and look somewhere else but I am ajibg Hello Peter to warn her about this, the place is awful with no wardrobes, hot water regulation is difficult and takes time. You can't even eat in these rooms. But the paint part is worse! We spoke to the staff and they told us the rooms have just been painted. How can you put a human being in such a mess?? I fear for my health and I don't want anyone to feel what I am feeling.
