I hired a car through Carflexi on 13 Dec 2018 for a rental in Cape Town between 25 and 29 January. The price advertised was about R690 +- which I clicked on and my account was immediately debited R524.13. They send me my voucher which states I must pay another R609.64 at the desk when I collect the car!! Before rental date I query this with them and they have added R440 full insurance cover which I never requested and don't want. They credit me R440 being the unwanted insurance. Long story short when I come to collect the car from "Thrifty car hire" they have no record of my booking reference CF94616F! An hour at Thrifty's desk and numerous phone calls between Thrifty & Carflexi resolves nothing. I'm told by Thrifty's manager, if I want a car I must pay Thrifty on a new rental agreement, their full rental amount. What can I do? I pay up. I now contact Carflexi by email and tell them this whole story and request a refund of the balance of what I paid them. I send the request 3 times to ********** and receive absolutely no response what so ever. I informed them that Thrifty refused to honour their voucher. Nothing. - not a piep. I think that these people should be avoided like the plague!
