CarFlexi.com is a ****. Go direct to the Car Rental companies.

This provider is a **** as far as my experience is concerned. I used their website to book a car through Sixt car rental (I will be writing a separate review for that company too).

When booking the car on their website, I was asked to either pay the rental in full (which I am glad I didn't) or pay a +/- 30% deposit to secure the booking and then I could just pay the balance when I got to the dealership. The deposit I paid was: 2,405.32 (I have all this recorded).

The deal apparently included insurance.

I did this. On the day of collecting the car from Sixt/First Car Rental, not only was I told I had several other deposits to pay as well as the car wasn't the type nor had the mileage or coverage it was portrayed to have when I booked it through CarFlexi.com

To add injury to false advertising, the deposit I had paid to secure my booking was actually Car Flexi's fee. They informed me at Sixt/First that no deposit had been paid on the rental amount and I had to pay the full balance.

All in, I ended up paying 12k for a ****-poor class vehicle.

When I called CarFlexi, they skirted around the deposit and all the other issues making out that I should be grateful that the deposits at the rental co were lower than they said they would be.

I am 2,400 poorer for dealing with this company. When I did some investigating and called customer care at Sixt under the guise of checking quotes through websites like CarFlexi, I was told on the phone to be careful of companies like that as they tended to lie.

Pray tell Sixt/First. If you know these companies are acting in a predatory fashion, but choose to take their business, then are you not culpable too?
