Most horrible motoring experience Cartime N1 City

<div>Just had the most horrible 2 days with the N1 City branch. I called them the morning of Thursday 14 March 2024. Gave them all my details and asked them to fix the ABS light on my 2006 Hilux D4D DC bakkies dash as I have to take it back to roadworthy on the Saturday.Only that. I asked my dad to drop the vehicle the next morning as I had to be at work early. I get a call from the Cartime N1 City agent on Friday morning saying that my brake pads front and one of the disks front are done and it needs replacement and it will cost R6050. I agree thinking this was the cause of my ABS light being on and it would solve the problem. I arrive 17h30 to pick up the vehicle to find them still busy with the vehicle. They wanted to give the vehicle back to me with the abs light still. To make things worse my drivers side carpet was messed with oil and the cars difllflock was put on and the 4x4 gearing was not in the correct place. Shows they have no idea how to work on 4x4 vehicles (be warned people with 4x4s) I asked them why did you replace the brakes and they told me they never tested for the ABS light as my dad told them it could the brakes. How is it possible that my direct instruction was ignored? How,How? After arguing with the manager and his team for 30mins I was promised it will be resolved Saturday. As expected it wasn't. An enourmous additional bill of R3500 was then added for what they said were for the left and right speed sensors. I refused to pay because I now had to pay for things never part of the solution. I left their offices. +++++&nbsp; of Cartime then called me to reason with me on the cost as I refused to pay for work done that had not resolved my problem as I explained. She discounted the labour with new total R8750. I approved on condition I get the vehicle fixed before 12 to Saturday to make the roadworthy deadline. I arrived 11h50 they told me the vehicle won't be fixed in time as they have not even received the sensors. I am not paying another R760 for re-roadworthy. I left without the vehicle. I am definitely taking this up with the Ombud and RMI.</div>

It is now Monday 18 March 2024. 11h20. Cartime still has my vehicle in their possession. No call today to inform me what is going on.

The Saturday promise of getting my vehicle to me before 12h00 did not materialize. I am not paying for another roadworthy test expense.

Really poor in all respects from the start.

Just received a call from Jackie of Cartime HQ ( not the regional manager as promised) a few minutes ago. Although she is trying to assist I am not happy with the response. The response from Cartime is that I ( the customer) had enough time to take the car to raodworthy and cannot blame them that I missed the deadline for the roadworthy follow-up visit. I informed them that I have no alternative but to have legislative 3rd party look at what has transpired - consumer protector - to determine exactly what has happened and why. My vehicle will now remains with Cartime until such time.

Received a call from Cartime Operations Manager Tuesday afternoon 19 March. A most decent person and conversation that was required right from the start. Agreed a suitable amount of R7949, 50 and I paid and collected my vehicle on Friday 20 March 17h30. I drove out with my vehicle and the first stop I get to the brakes makes a loud screeching noise. I get to the second stop even worse. I turn around and ask the manager to look at it. After his mechanic took it for a test drive again he diagnosed air in the ABS pump that should have been bled out during the repair process. I was promised by the manager that he will sort it out tomorrow (public holiday) morning first thing. AGAIN I QUESTION WHY I NOW HAVE ANOTHER DAY (DAY 5) WITHOUT A VEHICLE AFTER JUST SETTLING THE INVOICE. PLEASE GET THIS RIGHT.

DAY 7 WITHOUT A VEHICLE AND THE APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE CONTINUES -
Yesterday (21 MARCH 2024, 12h00) as I have become accustomed to I arrive at the premises of Cartime N1City and Jackie opens the door and explains that they could not fix the problem and need an external contractor to bleed the ABS system correctly as they do not have the tools with software nor the expertise to do so (exactly the reason why I was given back a faulty vehicle with bad brakes of all things to find the problem myself - terrible and dangerous). I asked her why did they gave the vehicle back to me in that state knowing it was not fixed. She then proceeds to tell me they test drove the vehicle prior and it was fixed and therefore I must have done something to it at the 2 stops I made before returning the vehicle back to them, REALLY??? I drove out of their premises and found the problem in less then 100m for goodness sake - WHO IS CHEKCING THESE GUYS' WORK????. Jackie then proceeds to interrogate me about the origin of my vehicle I.e. did I just buy it? was the light on when I bought it? and then she then starts to insinuate that I bad a bad vehicle and somehow its not Cartime messing up. Nevertheless I leave after being promised AGAIN that I will have my vehicle the next day.

The next day 22 MARCH 2024 (UP TO 15H30) - I HEAR NOTHING FROM CARTIME. I CALL AND ASK WHAT IS THE PROGRESS ON MY VEHICLE. JACKIE PICKS UP AND EXPLAINS THAT THEY DID NOT GET THE EXPERT IN YET. NO DECENCY IN TELLING ME THIS EARLIER.

THE ********** SITUATION CONTINUES UNABATED.

Just pulled my vehicle out of garage for a drive. The ABS light came on. After spending R8000 and more than a week with no vehicle this happens. I will be calling Cartime N1 City to bring the vehicle in for a proper repair. Unbelievable.

I called the N1 City branch at 12h30 02 April, Tuesday 2024.

I asked for Jackie. She was not at the branch. I spoke to Brent and explained the situation with the vehicle to him. I asked him to relay the message to Jackie and also for Jackie to return my call.

I await Jackie's call now.

Received the vehicle back today after another 2 days of being with the N1 City branch . Still not fixed. Still have errors and faults on readers. It appears the vehicle errors were cleared only and not fixed and given back to me like that.

What now CARtime? Client is still sitting with a vehcile mot fixed. After R8000 spent the vehicle still has the original problem it came in with on 21 March 2024.

Surely this cannot be.
