Terrible Car Service City Rivonia!

We took our van into Car Service City a few weeks ago with a shudder. On the original report which was just a plain printed piece of paper it had a long list of items to be fixed, including a misfire and engine and mountings. After which it took a few days to even get pricing and when we did sort of get pricing it was done on the phone to my wife, whereby I contacted them and said I will get the parts for the engine mountings and they can leave out the lightbulbs and we would check the suspension at my workshops. We never received an official quote and I did sort of get a quote typed under the parts or labour on an email body after I had said I will get the ford parts needed as I am in the motor industry too. Once I received the vehicle back two weeks ago it was worse than ever and they now say it must be the clutch/ injector. I have asked many times for a signed report and diagnoses of the vehicle from the first time it went in and when they took it back on the 5th Of November, to which I got different answers until they gave me the clutch story. It apparently went to Sunninghill when it first arrived for diagnosis and again when they took the vehicle back, I again have asked for signed reports on the vehicle as nothing was ever given in writing unless it was on an email in the body of the email, I asked for a designation of the person writing the so called report attached and got the below email back, which I find completely ridiculous, does that mean a cleaner can write a report or someone who is not a mechanic? Please note I have all emails on record and not once is there anything on a formal letterhead from Car Service City Rivonia. I feel I have been taken for a ride and have moved the vehicle to another mechanic who on hearing the original issue said it was not the engine or gearbox mounts and has to be the flywheel. Once I removed the vehicle and took it to a mechanic that actually had more than 2 vehicles on their premises he said before even driving it that it was the clutch from the beginning. He also says we have been taken for a ride.

Car service city says they followed the correct procedure and they don’t have to say who signed the report as they are RMI approved. Which is absolute *******. The owner of the Rivonia branch apologized at the beginning but can’t even respond now when I ask for RMI certificates and all the original reports on letterheads.

I would not recommend anyone ever take vehicles there. Their head office does not care at all and I cannot believe the way in which they write response emails! Not one report expect a badly written letter of two or three lines saying they did everything right.
