Shocking service

I have yet to come accross a place as unprofessional as Car service city in Blaauwberg road, Tableview.

Although the staff were friendly and seemed helpful at first, I was shocked over their inability surrounding knowledge of automobiles.

I took my car in for a noice in the eingine, which I later resolved elsewhere for R1495, and after a week of them going on a spree of replacing all parts they probably had available in their stock they returned the car to me with a bill of R3500. This was after I pleaded to them earlier that they had only to pay attention to the noise and none of the other little small things I had brought to their attention before.

Upon collecting my car there was suddenly a light on for the water, the water pump was one of the things they replaced without my authority. I queried them on this and they had their machine out that couldn't fit the diagnostic plug. So I don't know how they got to that problem in the first place. They told me to take it to a specialist as they didn't have the s**** and equipment to look after the problem.

After leaving there disappointed, I had only to release on my way home that the noise for which I had paid R3500 were still there. I then took the car back to have them fixed what I paid for already and the manager swore that I never asked them to fix the noise. He was under the impression that I told them the problem was at the engine pullies and that is why they replaced them all without even doing a test drive to check if the problem was finished.

Again shocked that a car specialist would take advice from someone clueless regarding engines, how to do their job. Obviously if I had known the problem I could have fixed it myself.

He assured me that he could continue with trial and error, replacing parts left, right and center to eventually find the problem.

When I asked him what the situation would be if I returned in a week and pay another R3500 for them to play around he just pulled up his shoulders in complete disarray.

I apologize for this long review, it is however the first I have ever written, but it would certainly not be the last. I am tired of *********** sharks who bite out ill informed hard working customers.

I will never ever support Car service city in its entirety.

I hope you had better experiences, but never in my life will I send anyone their. I will in fact make a point of bringing to their attention the horrific experience I had with them.

Their was no option of giving them 0 stars, but I guess their smiles can earn them a star.
