Rim damage

I sent my car in to have the brake pads changed and disk brakes skimmed. The job was completed adequately however the next day I noticed that my rim had been scratched. I contacted Gerald regarding the damage and he stated that I should bring the car in for him to have a look. He very quickly told me that this is not a new scratch however I do not accept this claim as you would see dirt in the scratch of the rim. He said he will take the complaint to the owner to determine the outcome. Too date I have not had a response even after multiple request for Gerald to please confirm the outcome of my complaint.
