Please note that i did email them and got no response!!!!

I am writing to request an explanation regarding the service I received at your Car Service City in Gardens yesterday. On your website and flyers, it was stated that the major service includes "we provide new parts and replacements for spark plugs (non-platinum)" for the price of R2895.00.

However, my car uses platinum spark plugs, and therefore I was charged an additional R2070.00 for this service. I believe that I have paid for two sets of spark plugs, one included in the main service for the amount of R2895.00 and the other charged separately for R2070.00. As a result, I am being charged twice for the same service.

As a consumer, I would like to bring to your attention that this practice is in violation of the Consumer Protection Act, which prohibits the charging of a person twice for the same thing. Therefore, I would appreciate it if you could provide an explanation for this discrepancy and offer a solution to resolve this issue.

In South Africa, the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) No. 68 of 2008 provides protection to consumers against various unfair business practices. According to section 48 of the CPA, it is an unfair practice for a supplier to charge a consumer for any goods or services that have not been agreed upon.

Furthermore, section 41 of the CPA provides for the right of consumers to receive goods or services that are of good quality, in good working order, and free of defects. If a supplier fails to provide goods or services of acceptable quality, the consumer has the right to return the goods or receive a refund.

Therefore, in the case where a consumer has been charged twice for the same goods or services, it would be a violation of the Consumer Protection Act and the consumer would have the right to seek a refund or return of the goods or services in question.

I would like to bring to your attention the unprofessional and disrespectful behavior of the manager of the branch where the service was provided.

When I approached the manager with my concerns, he was not helpful and began to show anger and started verbally abusing and screaming at me, stating "this is not my problem." This occurred at the reception area where other clients were present, making it a very unpleasant and unprofessional experience.

As a consumer, I have the right to expect fair and respectful treatment from service providers. The behavior of the manager was unacceptable and in violation of the Consumer Protection Act, which requires service providers to treat their customers with respect and dignity.

I am deeply disappointed by this experience and would like to request an immediate resolution to both the issue of the double charge for spark plugs and the unprofessional conduct of the manager.
