Pathetic Customer service

On the 14th of September I booked my car in for a major service. Drove my car to the Westgate branch and upon arrival I was greeted by a friendly lady at reception. The manager of the branch then attended to me and I was asked whether I had any concerns regarding my vehicle and I mentioned that my brake pads had gone since it had been giving off a strange sound. I was quoted just over R 9000 after a diagnosis was done. This amount was excluding spark plugs which I was told costs R2600 since they are Titanium. I decided to pay the amount since my car was already due for a major service. What surprised me though is while driving the car home the sound I had brought the vehicle in with was back and I noticed that my service book was not even updated. I then decided to give it a few more weeks to see if the sound will go away since I don't drive my car to work everyday. I'm so disappointed to say that the sound is even worse and what's embarrassing is my uncle told me to buy new brake pads when he heard the sound while I was driving him home the one day. Am I being taken for a ride because I'm female and perhaps they think I know nothing about vehicles?
