Major Service ending up in Major head ache.

Took my car for a service to change brake discs and brake pads and do a routine service. What should have been 2 days at most turned into 5 days. The car had no fault going into the Loop street service centre, on collection the engine light came on soonest I took the corner. On returning the car the technician told me that the timing was out - the service was changing of oils and filters and spark plugs how could the timing just go out?. Receiving my car back a day later with an 11k bill the car was still not fixed. Phoned the shop and the technician told me that its the cam belt and pulls it would need to be replaced and its another 20k. Took my car to the Opel dealer and 5 min later it was established that Car service City totally *****ed up the service the spark plug was cracked and forced in.

There was not mediation to try and establish what was wrong with eh car and the technician did clearly know what he was talking about and doing 1. The car had no cam belt - it has a timing chain. 2. this is not visible unless the headhunt is stripped to have a look. 3. Spark plugs were forced in resulting in a cracked spark plug hence it seemed like it was a timing issue.

Refrain from taking your car to this franchise it ended costing more than the actual dealer did due to incompetence.
