Inept and Rude

<p>I have been to three different branches of Car Service City and had the most atrotious time with them. </p> <p> </p> <p>The first time I used them for a major service was at their Menlyn branch. Firstly this branch did not wash or vacuum the car as they were supposed to as it was raining outside and did not see the need (what does rain have to do with vacuuming?). The mechanic also did not know how to reset my service indicator and actually asked me how it is done. In the end he needed to phone a buddy of his to find out. All this could have been forgiven if the car hadn't started cutting out on me that same week. I took the car to the Illovo branch who told me that a sub-standard oil was used . This resulted in my car cutting out and also caused lasting damage to my fuel pump and engine.</p> <p> </p> <p>Having not learnt my lesson the first time round, I tried my next service at the Illovo branch. Here the manager treated me as if I know nothing about cars and misdiagnosed an issue on my car (more about that later). Having done the service I carried on driving around, and within 400km my fanbelt either came off or snapped. Being under guarentee I took this back to the craighall branch (as without a fanbelt you should not drive the car and this branch was the closest). They fitted a new fanbelt (which I supp**** since I could not wait for them to get stock) and wanted to charge me labour, saying that the fanbelt was not worked on during the service. Are car service city mechanics so inept that they cannot tell that a fanbelt will not even last 400km? After an arguement this fee was eventually waived by the unnecessarily rude manager.</p> <p> </p> <p>The cherry on top was when I took my car to another mechanic to have the remaining work done (tie rod ends, rack ends, and rack boot) only to be told these are in perfect condition.</p> <p> </p> <p>As the afrikaans saying goes: goedkoop koop is duur koop. Never again will I trust them to do any work on my car (not even change a lightbulb, since they might do that wrong too)</p>
