C****rvieCity poor service
On 14th May I took my car for mechanical repairs at C****rviceCity in Silverton Pretoria. The problem on my vehicle was oil leakage. So I asked the guy at Reception (Hennie) to please be in contact with me regarding feedback on the progress. During the first week of taking my car there for repairs, I only received 1 call from the dealer to contact the insurance for the claim to can be approved. After that I did not receive any call from C****rviceCity to tell me what the problem is, I instead had to call them to get feedback on how far they are and what was wrong. I waited again for a call from them but was waiting for Xmas to come. I called once again, told Hennie that I am an essential worker during Lockdown and I am struggling with transport to work and I was told that they need to change the Head Gasket of the engine and they will call me. Luckily I have a friend that knows the guys that was busy with my car, I told him that I'm not getting any calls from these people to tell me how far they are with my vehicle. He kept going there to check on them and ask what the problem is and what's next that they are going to do. He updated me. My friend was the one updating me on the progression.
On 06 June my friend told me that the guys are done with my car it's parked outside. He told me to call C****rviceCity and ask if they are done. I did call and Hennie, and told him my friend saw my car parked outside and he was told by the guys in the workshop that they are done. I told my fiance to fetch it because I was in Johannesburg. She did fetch it and the car was running smoothly, after a couple of kilometers of my fiance driving it she got stuck. The car was starting and when it starts to move it was switching off. I got my friend to take it to my house that same day my fiance fetched it.
On Monday morning 08 June 2020 I tried to start the car, I let it idle and had a knocking sound from the engine and when I reversed it switched off. That was the last time it had started. When I tried to start it again it didn't want to start. I called a tow truck to tow it to C****rviceCity so that they have a look at it. When it reached there I called Hennie at Reception to tell me what the problem is, he said it might be the timing but they will have a look at it and update me. Tuesday I called my very same friend that was giving me an update on it and he said he will go check on the car. On Wednesday 10 June, my friend called me and told me that the problem is with the timing and they had ordered a timing chain. As soon as they receive it they will put it on and the car should be fine. Until today I don't know what is happening, whether my car is fixed or not. I am struggling to get to work using taxis, there were 2 taxi strikes this week and I had to miss work because my car is not being repaired timeously.
I am very disappointed with their service and lack of communication with their customers.
