****** Period!

It was my first time visiting this workshop and surely the last.

I realized that my car was leaking water and right away took it to the nearest w/shop to get it checked. Unfortunately Car Service City was the nearest. I requested a diagnosis, which was done and it was found that the water pump was leaking. I then requested them to quote me on the fix. At 15:23 the quote was printed, the part was ordered, they said the car will be ready same day. I then paid and the guys started stripping the car.

2 hours later at 17:24, I received a call to say there's another problem picked up, the water pump housing is the one broken, and that's 3k in addition to the initial quote. I was already on my way home and requested them to not continue until I see the new issue in the morning. The next morning I went through and saw the issue. I told them they must give me time to speak to the dealer because that very part was replaced in 2015. I spoke to the dealer and they asked me to bring in the car. I then informed the workshop and told them the dealer wants to check the car, that was the beginning of my problems.

I went back to the workshop to explain that the dealer wants the car and Riaan who is the workshop manager in Rivonia said to me they are going to charge me 3 hours of the previous day labor and if they assemble the car it's another two hours, so 5 hours of labor. I checked with the dealer if it's OK to bring in the car assembled, they agreed. So I said to Riaan, do not assemble then, I'll take my car as is. He dropped the labor to 4 hours which he claims it's the time they spent on the car but contradicting the 3 hours he mentioned earlier. The labor I was meant to pay was for the work that was done the previous day.

So what I was due to them was the diagnostic services, plus 2 hours labor, which were done the previous day not the 4 hours labor that Riaan couldn't explain.

Riaan called his boss Danny Khumalo the Operations Manager who is based in Sandton, because I told him I'm not paying 5 hours of labor, which he reduced to 4 hours , I still contested that. I asked to speak to Danny but he plainly refused to speak to me and **** that he's going to a 2 hours meeting. I know he **** because I called the Head Office a few minutes later and was told he's on a call he'll call back, which of course he never did till today. I also spoke to another senior in the company, Christiaan who is the Technical Manager, whom after I explained my situation he said that's not his responsibility but the Operations manager's, this Operations manager is Danny who refused to speak to me over the phone. This is completely unacceptable coming from a senior in the company. This was frustrating as I was told I will not get my car until I paid.

I'm giving out all this detail to illustrate the level of unprofessionalism and non-customer centric attitude right down from their juniors up to the senior management. I was so frustrated and ended up paying the 4 hours labor just to get my car as the towing company was there to take it. They ripped me off and made me pay for things they could not explain. I'm so upset with this company and warning people to stay away from it if good service is what you are looking for, they are happy to take your money but you are just a number to them. I'm certainly taking this up with the Ombuds to make them are of these ******.
