I'd like to warn people that these people are scanners.

We took in our car for a full diagnostics where various issues were highlighted. We were further advised which issues are critical. We gave them the go-ahead. On collecting the vehicle all seemed well but the car broke down on the M1 before reaching Joburg. That's hardly 30 kilometers from them. We towed it to a safe place since it was a Friday afternoon. The following week they arranged a tow truck which towed it to their premises for investigations. The investigations revealed that it was a gearbox problem and that it couldn't be their fault as they had not worked on it. This is despite having replaced the propeller shaft, which inevitably requires it to be unlinked from the gearbox. I escalated the matter to their head office, who turned out to be just an echo of the service center. It was only later that the franchise owner called me and admitted to their fault and requested that we do not escalate the matter any further as it would put them in trouble with the insurance. He personally committed to sharing the costs of repairs. The mechanic, by the name of Mandla, told us that he has managed to source a refurbished gearbox that is ready for collection. On collection we were told that the gearbox has already been sold. We went to a gearbox repair specialist that was recommended by them and we paid for the repairs, 100%. Mandla told us that they would not be paying since they didn't give us an instruction to repair. They also denied that they had agreed to any cost sharing. Furthermore we still have to buy other things that are required for repairs. We feel that the owner, Stelios, and the mechanic, Mandla, duped us into believing that they were sincere. Against this background I would advise that people keep away from the Car Service City brand as it is a combination of ********. Neither the owner nor Mandla are taking my calls nor responding to my emails.
