Car Service City Kempton Park horrible experience

In 2019 my polo GTI 2015 was due for a service for 90000km and also had a cooling system issue. So I took it to Car service City in Kempton Park and was charge an amount of R2895 for the service.

The consultant took advantage of the fact that I knew nothing about the cooling system and went as far as convincing that I will be charged over 20k at other services centres. During the repairing of the water pump he realized that the water pump needed replacing as it was leaking, he advised that they will need order a new water pump but I didn’t have the budget for it and they had to try and block it with glue for me and didn’t guarantee it won’t leak.

Not knowing what I was dealing it I was charged an amount of R11000 just to block the leak.

A week later the problem starter again and I had the water pump somewhere else at the cost of R8500.

I only realized now that when I looked at the service invoice that Car Service City charged me an amount of R5200 for a water pump which was never ordered as it they patched the leaking one.

I paid a total of R14424 including the service.
