CAR SERVICE CITY BRAKPAN : TOTAL RIP-OFF

Took my Chevy Spark to replace a water expansion bottle which had a crack in it and subsequently was leaking...when checking online for the price of the bottle they were as little as R280 from Goldwagen, R380 from Boss Auto parts and a few other online retailers unfortunately they had no stock so the next best was to contact CHM Boksburg where they quoted me R750 but once again they had no stock, but this did give me a ballpark figure as to what I was in for... or so I thought. Car Service city was now the only repair center that had stock of the part so I had no choice but to pay a whopping R3608.50.... not total plus labour, or a car valet, JUST THE BOTTLE (one would think it was at least plated in gold). When I enquired as to where Car Service City Brakpan got the part I was told that I couldn’t be told as they were not allowed to say...which certainly leaves a bad taste in ones mouth... The next shocking amount was for the antifreeze which cost R570 and that’s not for 5litres but for approximately 1.5l if that... I am disgusted that this company can charge such exorbitant prices!!! I know times are tough and inflation is on the rise but was this price due to rising costs and automotive part distributors having low stock or was this because I was a woman therefore they matched the status quo and took advantage ? I would most certainly not recommend any Car Service City Franchise to anyone... so sad that the people working there were so nice but their prices were definitely not....
