Blatantly and conspicuously ********* !

I took my car in for a major service (R4,199), done. They called to (emphatically) quote on many other extras that needed prompt attention, specifically the front brake disc's that they said needed 'urgent' attention (skimming), including the rod ends and stabilizer links (which are all clearly visible once you take the wheels off).

They were VERY emphatic about the above being critical.

I know the guys across the road from me at Hi-Q fairly well - I've used them once or twice, hell of a nice guys. I had a feeling my discs etc were fine, no shuddering when I brake, no visible signs of wear. Popped past Hi-Q, they took one look at the discs (without taking the wheels off), and said there's absolutely no problem with them at all.

They were so enthusiastic about showing me how Car Service City had deceived me that they took the two front wheels off, showed me the discs, the rod ends and stabilizer links and said they were 100% perfect, taking me to the back and showing me what shot discs looked like. Mine are absolutely 100% perfectly smooth. My TYRES need replacing, yes that I know, but Car Service Centre (with ****roaches prolific in the reception area), and Eugene, I believe one of the managers? (going on about being a priest?!), you guys are the epitome of shady and disreputable workshops!

There is absolutely no way you can justify yourselves to this end. I have your call recordings, your list of work 'I need done' etc.

Do NOT touch Car Service City. More particularly their branch in Montague Gardens. Appalling (especially in SA where we're all struggling financially).
