Bad Service
On Monday the 15th February 2018, my son booked a car for Service on our car, a Ssangyong Korando Turbo. The car was serviced and on Saturday the 20th January, the gears of the car were dysfunctional. Monday the 22nd January we called the car service city and they came and took the car for assessment. Two days later we were told that the oil from the gearbox was old. They advised that they will get a second opinion from the gearbox specialist.
From thereon I have been calling for a follow up and every time I have been told it is a lot of work to open the gearbox and check, they will let me know when they are done.
On Tuesday the 6th February i personally went to check and also wanted some documents which were in the car. I requested that they provide me with the address of the specialist. I was told that cannot be possible. Public is not allowed to go there, which I found to be strange. My son went back later on to fetch the documents. The feedback was that they are waiting for quotations of the parts required.
Today Friday the 9th, I called again and was told that the cost to fix the car is about R 42 300, or so. I advised them that I cannot afford that kind of money. I need to have the car back. I was told I need to pay for stripping out of the car and on top of that they said they are not allowed to reassemble the car, since they will not be fixing it.
All I need from car service city, is my car back in a working condition. I am struggling as it is without a car. I also need them to provide us with a courtesy car whilst they fix my car.
