Car kind in Newlands sells s****s
I bought a car from them and they never disclosed that the car is defective . When I tried to resolve the issue I got a stinking attitude from Angela . She was rude and unruly and I don’t understand why are this people still selling cars . Who regulates motor industry licenses. Do they even do due elegance to see if a dealership sells consumers working vehicles?

# FORMAL COMPLAINT REGARDING THE SALE OF A DEFECTIVE AND MISREPRESENTED MOTOR VEHICL
# FORMAL COMPLAINT REGARDING THE SALE OF A DEFECTIVE AND MISREPRESENTED MOTOR VEHICLE I purchased a **2008 BMW 320i Automatic**, registration number **LJL573W** and VIN **WBAVG76020NL69637**, from **Morne Britz** on **24 July 2026**. I found the vehicle through an adverti*****t placed on **AutoTrader**. I captured and saved all relevant evidence, including screenshots of the adverti*****t and its original photographs, before the seller removed the listing. ## AutoTrader Adverti*****t The vehicle was advertised as follows: > “BMW 3 Series — Well-kept 2008 BMW 320i Auto in silver, offering a smooth 2.0-litre petrol drive with reassuring BMW build quality and solid mechanical fundamentals at an appealing price point for buyers seeking trusted German engineering without the premium price tag. > > Year: 2008 > Variant: 320i Auto > Colour: Silver > Engine: 2.0-litre petrol > Warranty: No current warranty; buyer inspection recommended > Service history: No recorded service history > > All information in this listing must be confirmed with the seller.” The adverti*****t presented the vehicle as well-kept, mechanically sound and of good quality. However, several serious mechanical, electrical, safety and cosmetic faults were not disclosed to me verbally or in writing before the purchase. ## Timeline of Events ### Friday, 24 July 2026 * The vehicle was delivered to me at approximately **19:00**. * At approximately **19:46**, I telephoned Morne Britz and informed him that the vehicle had stopped working and was completely dead. * I informed him that the starter was not engaging, numerous warning lights had appeared and I was not satisfied with the vehicle. * At approximately **20:18**, he contacted me and said that he felt bad about what had happened. He had previously assured me that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. ### Saturday, 25 July 2026 * At approximately **09:15**, I informed him that the vehicle was showing no signs of power and was completely dead. I explained that I had not even driven the vehicle for one kilometre. * At approximately **09:34**, he telephoned me. I recorded the entire conversation, during which I clearly told him that I was unhappy, did not want the vehicle and wanted the matter resolved. * Shortly before **10:00**, he came to inspect the vehicle. My boyfriend also informed him that the vehicle was not mechanically sound. * Despite being informed that I was rejecting the vehicle, the seller refused to compromise, repair the vehicle properly or provide a refund. * He subsequently claimed that I had purchased the vehicle as s****. I strongly dispute this claim, as the vehicle was never advertised, described or sold to me as s****. * I reported the matter to the relevant consumer authorities. * Despite knowing that I was unhappy and had rejected the vehicle, he still posted or represented me as a “happy customer.” This statement is false and was made without my consent. I have retained telephone records, messages, recordings, photographs and other evidence supporting this timeline. ## Undisclosed Faults The following faults were discovered after the vehicle was delivered: 1. Serious engine problems and excessive smoke 2. The engine warning light was illuminated 3. Computer and electronic control-box errors 4. The boot was broken 5. The front left door could not be opened from the outside 6. The vehicle key did not work correctly 7. The rear seat was broken 8. The steering-wheel airbag appeared to have previously deployed 9. The boot-release button was missing 10. Loose and exposed wiring was present in the boot 11. The vehicle repeatedly loses battery power and keeps going completely flat 12. The steering wheel shown in the original AutoTrader adverti*****t did not appear to match the steering wheel in the vehicle delivered to me In the original adverti*****t photographs, the steering wheel was clearly visible and was not covered. However, when I received the vehicle, the steering wheel was covered with a wrap. Its condition and appearance were not the same as shown in the adverti*****t. The wrap appeared to conceal the actual condition of the steering wheel and the previously deployed or damaged airbag area. The vehicle stopped working within approximately **46 minutes of delivery**, after being driven no more than approximately **100 metres**. I immediately informed the seller that it would not start. The vehicle also continues to lose battery power. Even after being started, the battery drains and the vehicle becomes completely dead again. This electrical, battery or charging-system problem was not disclosed before the sale. ## Faults Disclosed Before the Sale The inspection took place in the dark. The seller verbally disclosed only the following faults, which were also listed on the document I signed: * A cracked front windscreen * A damaged tail light * A faulty cable on the right rear window * General wear and tear None of the serious mechanical, electrical, safety or structural problems listed above were disclosed to me. ## Seller’s Response The seller returned the following morning and managed to start the vehicle. Once started, it produced an extreme amount of smoke. When I questioned him about the smoke, he claimed that it was merely fog. I recorded our conversation. During this conversation, the seller acknowledged that he had not disclosed the faults and claimed that I had purchased the vehicle as s****. I did not agree to purchase a s**** vehicle. The vehicle was advertised and sold as a well-kept BMW with solid mechanical fundamentals. The adverti*****t did not describe it as s****, damaged, non-running or being sold for parts. The seller operates as a motor vehicle dealer and not as a s****yard. At no stage before the purchase was I informed that the vehicle was being sold as s****. ## Requested Resolution I requested a full refund within **24 hours of purchasing the vehicle**. The seller has refused to repair the vehicle properly or refund me. I therefore request that this matter be formally investigated, that the sale be cancelled and that the vehicle be returned to the seller in exchange for a full refund of the purchase price. I also request that the false post or statement describing me as a “happy customer” be removed immediately, as it does not represent my experience or opinion and was posted despite the seller knowing that I had rejected the vehicle. ## Supporting Evidence I have supporting evidence available, including: * Screenshots of the AutoTrader adverti*****t * The original adverti*****t photographs showing the steering wheel * Photographs of the wrapped steering wheel in the vehicle delivered to me * Telephone records and time-stamped messages * Recordings of conversations with the seller * Evidence that I rejected the vehicle shortly after delivery * Photographs and videos showing the excessive smoke * Evidence of the battery and starting problems * The document listing the limited faults disclosed before the sale * Proof of payment and purchase * Evidence of the post falsely describing me as a happy customer * Proof that the matter was reported to the relevant consumer authorities I have also found several reviews and posts describing experiences similar to mine on **Google Reviews, HelloPeter and the Car Kings Facebook page**. These accounts appear to raise comparable concerns regarding vehicle condition, advertising, disclosure of faults and after-sale assistance. I have saved screenshots and copies of the relevant reviews and posts as additional supporting evidence. I respectfully request that these accounts be considered together with the evidence relating to my complaint.

Mortified at what I bouth
I bought a BMW 116I from Car King in Newlands on 24/04/2025 for R90k cash. I was sold the car as is, however I was told that there are Runflat tyres on the vehicle, according to the tyre dealership there is not one Runflat on the vehicle. The batter in the vehicle is the incorrect batter, it is not even an AGM battery. Today my car just stopped working, only to find out that it could be the change that goes into the engine. I am so upset and Disappointed with the fact that they pulled the wool over my eyes just to make a sale.
