Loading price and wrong diagnosis

went for a quote to repair my aircon. I was told the fan was broken and needs to be replaced, total being R21 000!Fan to be bought straight from BMW(I phoned BMW R12 100.) I paid the quote price and decided to go for a 2nd opinion....Cool Sound in Vanderbijlpark...all I can say is thank you! nothing was said about a faulty fan only broken O rings hens the gas was leaking. total R2900! I went back to Car Hi fi requesting my R350 back for loading the price(which the owner admitted to) and not even finding the problem. I was told they could not test for the fault...how did Cool sound then and why is it working properly now? what ever happened to the customer was always right? the owner tried to teach me about a aircon...most of which I already knew....when I refused to accept his 'specialised advice' and that my engine would soon break he actually rolled his eyes at me! I will never set foot there again!
