*****ED CAR SALES

I purchased a vehicle from The Car Emporium in Cape Town on 20 December 2018, all the way from East London. After collecting the vehicle on my way back to East London with the car just after Sir Lowrys Pass the car developed a slight misfire and engine light came on. I contacted the dealership immediately and I was told to switch the car off and on again and the light would go off. It worked but then it kept coming on eventually it got harder to start. Upon arriving in East London Saturday afternoon 21 December 2018 I had the vehicle diagnosed and it picked up a few faults, intake flap stuck open, engine mounting solenoid open(meaning bad engine mounting), cylinder 4,5,6,7 and 8 were misfiring. I then decided to do further inspection on the body and noticed the vehicle had been involved in an accident on the right side. I called the dealership to tell him all the faults he said get quotes to have it repaired. Over the Christmas weekend it rained and the water flooded the front passenger footwell. I took pictures and told the dealership I'm not happy with the vehicle I'm returning it. He told me okay the banks are closed we will sort it out in the new year. I contacted the bank on the 31st of December 2018 and they instructed me to email a letter of complaint. On the 7th of January 2019 I decided to take the car in to Audi to get a quote on the repairs that needs to be done and it totalled to almost R70 000. Then took it to an approved bodyshop and quoted R4000 to repair and align the door. I contacted the dealership to provide him with the quote and he told me it was too expensive and how he can have it done far cheaper. I told him to give me R40 000 and I will have the car repaired at audi as I trust and believe that the dealer will provide quality work and parts. He refused and told me he will get it taken to someone of his choice. I refused and told him to rather cancel the deal, I do not want a vehicle repaired by any backyard mechanic and that I want my money back. He said no problem he will need to deduct the kilometers I travelled with the car, the interest, the warranty and on the road costs. Which is unfair I was sold a piece of trash, he was not honest about the vehicle. I reported all the problems within 5 days. He is a *****. I also need to mention that he ****** me with my vehicle that I traded in and when I asked for it back he said he sold it. That is very hard to believe.

All I want is my money back and for this dealership to be named and shamed for the un ethical business practices.

The owner is Tashreeq. Phone number is **********

Reviewer Update
I'm happy to say that the issue was resolved. Tashreeq was very helpful. After resolving the issue I had a look at his other cars, they are all nice and clean. I would have taken another car but the cars I was interested in was out of my budget. In a years time I will definitely spend my money at his dealership. I will say that my first review was just out of anger and without proper thought. All the best Car Emporium
