Traumatised and Humiliated

Sometime in July, my son Was going around in town to hand in CV's to different companies and popped in at Car Service in Govan Mbeki North End to asked for a job.

He wasn't aware that I'm servicing my car yearly at the above mentioned dealer.

According to him he got to the reception area, greeted the receptionist (Milly) and asked her if there's no vacancy.

He related that in a very rude manner and attitude she rep**** they don't have vacancies.

As this is the centre where I use to service my vehicle I immediately sent Adam Macdonald an email whereby I expressed how hurt my son was and as his mom I felt the pain. My son said to me Ma i left there like a dog with my tail between my legs.

I explained what happened to Adam and he reverted back by email apologized and said he knows how it feels to be jobless and my son should come see him.

I thanked him for his professionalism and said the reason why I service my car with them is because of the good service I'm getting from them.

On the 8 August 2019, I emailed him to book my car for a minor service and he responded that it's R1 100 and tgmhe car was booked for 15/08/2019.

I asked him in our previous conversation (email) should I arrange transport to pick me up from there centre to go to work and his response was no we will arrange transport.

Previously his mechanic dropped me off and last year his wife dropped me off at work.

Whilst I sat in the reception area, the manager came to tell me that the uber will be there in 12minutes.

Adam Macdonald never mentioned in our conversations that an uber will drop me off and I started getting fast heartbeats and panicking as one of our doctors and a colleague had bad experiences with Uber

I immediately called a colleague and asked her to please pick me up as I have a fear for Uber and she agreed.

I got up went to the manager and asked him to cancel the uber as I have arranged my own transport.

That specific moment Adam Macdonald came out of his office and asked if there was a problem.

I said yes I have arranged transport and he rep**** then go that will save me R140 in a very rude manner.

He went out to his car and as he came back I said in a normal tone of voice but you didn't tell me you making use of Uber services.

In front of another client and his receptionist he started shouting at me that I'm a problematic client because 192 places are making use of Uber and that i should not bring my car again to him.

He didn't ask me the reason why I don't want an uber. He shouted so you trust my mechanic my wife but you don't wabr an uber in a lIus voice

I am paying for this services it us not for free and u was prepared to arrange my own transport.

I felt embarrassed and hurt that a dominant male did no show any respect towards me as a woman or be atleast professional to discuss the matter in his office.

He humiliated me infront of people the same his receptionist did to my son.

I said to the manager I will definitely put this on Facebook, and I left the building.

I was about 100m from the building when I heard Adam Macdonald shouting Mrs Malgas come fetch your car we not servicing it.

I am a respectful 55year old who will not allow anyone talking to me like thrash and I didn't look back and kept on walking towards the next street where Battery Centre is situated to wait for my colleague.

Just after my colleague called to say she's on her way I got a call from his receptionist who said Adam Macdonald says I must come fetch my car, they've put it outside there building.

In women's month and overall you still get males who's not respectful and I believe if it was plain rude arrogant and disrespectful how I was treated.

I sent an email to tell him exactly how I feel because of this incident and I also told him I will report it to my political party EFF because he made me feel as if it is still Apartheid.
