APPAULING customer service and GROSS misconduct

I had a minor fender accident on the 21st July 2017 in Durban with a hire car from Capital Car Hire. The accident was not my fault as I was hit from behind. Everything was reported and I was debited on my foreign credit card R12 500 as an excess. I didn't worry about it and thought I would be reimbursed quickly as it was a minor accident. Was I wrong!!!! The hire car was back on the road very quickly after being in service shortly after the accident. After not hearing anything I started enquiring about my refund. No one at CCH even the Durban Managers Vitesh or Rina could tell me the exact procedure/who to speak to - as I live in Zimbabwe - spent a fortune on the phone being sent from pillar to post. Nearly 5 months later I am no nearer to being refunded. My credit card interest is mounting on this charge and also the rand has slipped hence with the R12 500 rand debited, the foreign amount will amount to less when reversed. I estimate this will cost me at least R4000 extra in bank charges and phone calls. No amount of pleading, jumping up and down - I am 61 yrs old - will get me any nearer to being reimbursed. Their downright arrogance, incompetence and misconduct has to be highlighted to the public!!!! How dare they treat people like this. I am a tourist to South Africa coming here often. A point of interest : I went and did a survey of other car hire companies in Joburg airport last week when I was passing through there and the general wait time of a third party claim if the car was not badly damaged was between 7-21 days!!!!! I have had to threaten CCH that I phone my bank and get this charge reversed. Which doesn't seem to have helped. Thank you for reading Tricia
