Warning: Poor Experience with CapeOffRoad Centre (Cape Town)

If you're looking to spend your money (R70,860.88 in my case) for incomplete, unsafe and subpar workmanship—congratulations, CapeOffRoad Centre is exactly what you need!

I got the full experience: parts and fitment paid in full (including a rear bar), shoddy and dangerous work (which turned my car into a potential 4x4 safety hazard) and service so poor it deserves its own Netflix documentary.

The owner, Mr. Jaco Terblanche, graciously agreed to rectify the mess—until I made the shocking, completely unreasonable, request that the redo be done to actual automotive standard. I even planned to bring in a third-party to check the work—because, you know, “safety.”

That’s when he suddenly cancelled the booking because "those terms are not acceptable" and asked me to return the rear bar for a refund (which I did), then he immediately listed it online on FB and sold it to someone else (whom I coincidently met with “my” rear bar installed) to pocket that money for himself. My actual refund I have not seen yet, of course.

When I dropped by (he screens my calls) to ask about the refund, I was threatened and chased off the property. All in front of witnesses. Charming.

Letter of demand: ghosted. MIOSA complaint: ignored. Current status: with the National Consumer Commission, because apparently, that’s what it takes.

So if you’re craving 4x4 adventures with high drama, burnt money, and potentially life-threatening "upgrades," this place delivers in full.
