Troublesome Garmin software update
Someone many years ago bought me a very basic garmin gps unit. It went well until one day I was alerted on the device i needed a map update. I thought of going to the supplier and they said to go to Cape Union Mart. I went to my nearest one, showed them the unit and I was shown to another part of the shop. Another person came to tell me the representative would be with me shortly. I waited and then sure enough somone from this store came to tell me that the computer was broken. Okay i thought come back in a weeks time. I did and this time the incorrect CD was sent. So on enquiring when would the correct CD be sent to update mine? I was told one week or something like that. A week goes by,and I attempt to get my Garmin fixed for the upteenth time. Yet again, a problem with the computer. So I decided to sell the unit there and then to someone who would have to battle to deal with Cape union mart. I now have something similar to Garmin called Waze, and its far better than the silly Garmin. My message to Garmin South Africa:find a reputable repair place, and make sure you proceed to send all the necessary correct CD's for software updates.
