Promises not delivered

I wanted to buy a LED Lenser M14 torch on the special they had going. Went to a store on Saturday the 24th of March and requested one. They were out of stock, but said that Kolonade had two in stock, but they can also order one for me which would be there by the following Tuesday (27th). It only arrived the 4th of April. I went to the store to pick it up. When I opened the box (wasn't sealed or anything) and tried the torch, it wasn't working. Thought it might just be that there is something to prevent the batteries from draining. I struggled opening the torch and removing the battery holder. When I finally removed the battery holder, a bunch of white powder came out along with it. One of the batteries had already leaked battery acid, which made it difficult to remove. The batteries were also different (three duracell and one energizer). This meant this was a demo torch which was sold to me as a new one! This is unacceptable. When I phoned the store ,the lady said they will have to refund me as that was the last one and that model was discontinued. This is also unacceptable to me, as I wanted a torch. I was about to buy one and they said they will order a new one, I declined buying a demo from the Mall of Africa store because they ordered one for me and now they sell a very old demo one to me (old enough for battery acid to start leaking out).
