Order cancelled after being confirmed

I purchased a pair of Salomon Trail running shoes online from Cape Union Mart over Black Friday. The item was in stock and discounted. The order was confirmed and my payment deducted.

A week later I get an email notifying me that there is no stock! Surely Cape Union has real time systems capable of determining stock levels before a transaction is completed.

I suspect that staff members procure the stock and then cancel customer orders; can be the only logical conclusion.

Anyway, I would not recommend buying online from this retailer as they certainly are not trustworthy.
