Extremely Poor Quality of Goods & After Sales Service

<p>I bought a boot for work purposes from Cape Union Mart (Cape Gate). I specifically went to a CUM store as I imagined their products are of good quality based on their pricing. I was recommended by the sales person to look at a specific boot that is Cape Union Marts own brand. I was told it’s a tough boot and it felt comfortable on me. I work in an office environment so I thought it would last me quite a while so I bought it based on all of this.</p> <p> </p> <p>About 2 months later I noticed the boot started looking a bit “flat” and wasn’t keeping its shape. I left it as I wasn’t really interested in how it looked but rather that it was comfortable. After another 8 months of wearing this boot on a carpeted floor for most of the day the soles of the boot started tearing lose from the sides & my inner soles had come lose which I eventually had to remove myself. By This time the boot had lost its good look not because it wasn’t looked after but because it was a poor quality boot.</p> <p>It bugged me that I got less than a year wear out of it and as it cost me about R1000 to purchase. It was at this point I decided to take the boots back. I was asked for a receipt which I didn’t have, but this is their own brand and can only be purchased at one of their stores. Besides who keeps a receipt for almost a year especially for a pair of boots? I was told they would send it for repairs which I was not happy with as the boots looked like **** but I accepted it because I wasn’t going to be difficult. I was called twice since then asking for my receipt which I explained I did not have any more but it is their own brand so it definitely had to be purchased at one of their outlets. It’s been more than four months later and I haven’t heard anything back from them again.</p> <p>I work hard for my money and it upsets me how retailers like Cape Union Mart gets away with *****ing…and yes I feel its *****ing because they take your money knowing the quality of the goods you purchasing is not worth the money they asking. Stay away guys and girls…these people don’t give a **** once they have your money!</p>
