Does the term warranty mean anything?

Purchased a pair of Solomon shoes on the 29/12/2015, cost R1800. One of the eyelets tore free in May 2016 and I brought the shoes back to the store in ****arney mall - 17/05/2016. Dwayne booked them in. I was surprised that these shoes broke after only wearing them once a week, since pruchase. Guess it was a Friday model.

I followed up on the repair on the 26/05/2016 and was told that it would take 4 - 6 weeks (!?). Solomon has a defective goods warranty of two years on their shoes, consumer protection act not withstanding. Why not swap these shoes out with the supplier? Can they even be repaired to the same quality? I requested that the shoes be swapped out against a new pair, Dwayne promised to look into it and get back to me. I have received no feedback from him.

Today, 31/05/2016, I phoned the store and was told that "once the repair book was found" I would receive an update. After 25 minutes I phoned again...but they have not yet found the repair book!?

What circus did I wander into? Which clown has my shoes?

Good day Patrick We are so terribly sorry to hear of this experience you have had in store. This is certainly not the experience we would want any customer to receive when entering our stores. We will look into this with our ****arney Team and ensure that you receive some feedback on where your shoe is and what can be done for you. We will also escalate this to the relevant managers and make them aware of the delays in getting feedback you have experienced. Once again our sincerest apologies that you have had this disappointing experience. The Cape Union Mart Team
